“Success in this world is always a matter of individual effort, yet you will only be deceiving yourself if you believe you can succeed without the co-operation of other people.” Napoleon Hill
If you were to analyze the practices and habits of truly successful people you would find that they always surround themselves with other talented, inspired, motivated, and passionate people. This makes it easy for them to tap into the resources they need to achieve success. And of course, they become one of those resources for others around them. This is why the company you keep may be dramatically affecting your success.
One of the most significant actions you can take to advance your ideas is to assess who you spend time with and make changes where necessary. I am happy to say that I have personally been the beneficiary of following this practice more diligence recently, and I can tell you the results have been quite impressive. As I look back at the conscious adjustments I’ve made in the company I keep I can trace virtually every success I have achieved back to people with whom I made a deliberate decision to associate myself.
Surround yourself with people who inspire you to be your best and who can serve as a resource in your worthy efforts. Be willingly to play that role for others as well, and perhaps as a prelude to having them do so for you. Occupy your mind and your time with people who have a positive outlook on life (“POOL”) and you will be well on your way to reaching your full potential in all that you do.
